Privacy Policy

ManualBook is built around a simple promise: your manuals stay on your device, under your control. We run no servers that can read them.

The short version

• We run no servers that receive your manuals, scans, or recognized text.
• There are no accounts and no sign-up. We never see who you are.
• No third-party analytics, ad SDKs, or trackers of any kind.
• Text recognition (OCR) runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple's on-device frameworks.
• Optional iCloud Sync keeps your library in your own private iCloud — it never passes through us, because we have no server.

Camera & Photos

ManualBook uses the camera and your photo library only to let you capture or import pages of a manual, and only when you choose to. Those images are processed on your device and saved into your library. They are never uploaded to us.

Data we store locally

ManualBook stores your manuals — page images and the text recognized from them — in the app's local storage on your device. This data:

• stays in the app's sandbox on your device;
• is deleted when you delete the app;
• is included in your iCloud / encrypted device backup only if you have those backups enabled — Apple controls that, not us.

iCloud Sync (optional)

If iCloud Sync is enabled, your manuals are mirrored to your own private iCloud database (Apple's CloudKit) so your other devices stay in sync. That copy lives in your personal iCloud account — encrypted by Apple and inaccessible to us. ManualBook runs no server and never receives it. Nothing is shared with anyone.

What we don't collect

ManualBook does not collect:

• your name, email, phone number, or device identifier;
• precise location, IP address, or network telemetry;
• analytics events, screen views, taps, or app sessions;
• contacts, calendars, or microphone.

We have no idea what's in your manuals, because we never see them.

Children

ManualBook is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly process data from them. There is nothing for us to delete server-side, because we have no server.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what ManualBook reads, stores, or sends, we will update this page and bump the effective date.
