Shutdown Club is built around one promise: everything stays on your device. The app has no backend, makes no network requests for your data, and we operate no servers that could receive it.
When you use Shutdown Club, it saves the things you enter and the state of each night — your scheduled self-time, when you entered shutdown, your Parking Lot notes, your morning review, and the derived "Shutdown Score." This is kept in the app's private on-device database (SwiftData). It:
Shutdown Club does not collect:
If you connect Apple Health, Shutdown Club reads — read-only — your sleep data, so it can show how your nights actually turned out and connect your wind-down habits to real sleep. This happens entirely on your device:
If you don't connect Apple Health, the app shows a synthetic preview instead and reads nothing.
If you grant permission, Shutdown Club schedules local-only notifications (an optional shutdown reminder and a gentle nudge beforehand). These are queued on your device by iOS. There is no push server — no remote endpoint can send you a message or learn that you received one.
Shutdown Club is a paid app. Payment is handled entirely by Apple’s App Store — there are no in-app purchases, and we never receive your payment details.
Shutdown Club is not directed to children under 13, and because it collects nothing, it cannot knowingly process their data. There is nothing for us to delete server-side, because there is no server.
If the app ever changes what it stores or sends, we will update this page and bump the effective date above.
